JIEMAN TAN, admitted to practice law in the State of New York, joined Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C. in 2025 as an associate. Jieman was born in Canton, China, and was admitted to the New York Bar in February 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
At Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C., Jieman represents property owners, cooperative and condominium boards, and corporate clients in a broad range of real estate and commercial litigation matters. Her practice includes construction disputes, landlord–tenant proceedings, cooperative and condominium governance disputes, and commercial litigation matters. Drawing on her background in corporate law, Jieman also advises and represents cooperative and condominium boards in matters involving shareholder and unit owner disputes, nuisance claims, nonpayment proceedings, discrimination complaints, and regulatory proceedings before housing agencies.
Prior to joining Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C., Jieman practiced corporate and commercial law at Jia Law Group, P.C. in New York. Her practice focused on advising corporate clients, institutional investors, and high-net-worth individuals on investments and business operations in the United States. She regularly advised foreign clients on the formation and structuring of U.S. entities for domestic operations, and on matters involving corporate governance, shareholder/investor arrangements, corporate restructurings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and foreign investment matters. Jieman also represented clients in commercial litigation matters and participated in settlement negotiations.
Outside of her legal practice, Jieman enjoys playing guitar, reading classical Chinese poetry, and visiting art museums. She is also an active AABANY member and regularly volunteers at pro bono clinics.
Jieman is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
