ANDREW D. STERN, admitted to practice law in the State of New York, joined Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C. (then Deutsch Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C.) as an associate in 2010. Andrew was born in New York, New York, attended Boston University as an undergraduate, and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. Andrew has been a partner at Tane Waterman & Wurtzel, P.C. since 2015.

Andrew is an experienced counselor and litigator who advises clients in real estate and commercial matters. He has represented clients in tort claims sounding in defamation between business associates, in property damage between neighboring owners, and in breach of fiduciary duty brought derivatively between corporations and their boards. Andrew has also litigated consumer and commercial contract actions ranging from disputes between a co-op and its proprietary lessees, between developers and lenders, and condominium boards of managers and unit owners.

Andrew believes in the value of negotiated resolutions to disputes and has successfully worked with diverse and divergent parties to reach settlements involving a variety of legal interests and issues. Where negotiated resolution is not possible, he diligently represents clients in federal and state courts in the State of New York.

Andrew has been consulted by and quoted in numerous publications including Habitat Magazine and CooperatorNews New York on a variety of real estate related matters.
